The development of high end photonic systems is not possible without high-end electronics. Unfortunately these electronic systems often cannot be delivered of the shelf. So one of our photonics cooperation partners started their own electronics project and developed a high-end controller board (NAMCON). They implemented up to 96 high-end AD-converters operating with a dynamic range of more than 100 dB with several DA-converters of similar dynamic range, and combined these components with high-end signal processors. While mainly designed to control their machine, this controller is equally good suited for the massive parallel implementation of data processing algorithms such as servo loops or digital filters.
